I went into the Marriage Boot Camp not realizing how much shame I was carrying. I am in a marriage that, by the worlds standards, should be over. In the worlds eyes I should have left my husband many years ago. However, I have felt the Lord telling me time and time again that I am to remain with my husband as long as he is in the process of recovery and wants to be free of the chains that bind him. I am not in a physically abusive relationship, but my husband has issues that stem from his childhood. He is working on those issues, but it is taking alot of time and patience. Sometimes I feel ashamed that I have remained by his side. I feel that the world looks at me as the biggest codependent woman in history. However, the Boot Camp helped me to realize that I am okay! I am right where God wants me! There may come a time when I have to walk away, but for now I am in the right place and I have no reason to feel ashamed of that. I came away with a new sense of self-worth! I found that I am a "forgiving, free and joyful woman". I am forgiving because that is how God made me and I choose to forgive. I am free because I have forgiven and I have broken free of the chains of unforgiveness. And, I am joyful because I am free to be the woman God created me to be.

I was really amazed how this boot camp helped my marriage. My husband and i had some struggles in our marriage and we had been attending counseling prior to our trip to the boot camp. We thought were doing all the "right things" already, but thought boot camp would teach a little extra. I was blown away on their techniques and how they help you discover why you do the things you do that can cause issues in your relationships. I would completely recommend this and or the life enrichment for everyone because it helps you become a better person with a lot of new understanding in your life and for a happy life.

WOW>>> I have never wrote a testimonal before in my life.so here goes.. The boot camp has changed my life competely,let me tell you a little about my life so you can understand where I came from and what it did for me.My husband and I have been separated for 2 years and 4 councelers later it got so bad we couldnt even talk on the phone any more and so for the last 3 weeks we have been ____(TRYING) to communicate by e- mail and that was getting nowhere even with my counclor helping us, we just got in this vicious cycle that we couldnt get out of.. I was sure I hated him, but I have been married before and knew the grass was not greener, \"if he would just respect me\" I thought and treat me that way everying would be o.k...So I signed up for boot camp he agreed to go of course I only if I paid, The trip down was almost 5 hours and full of tension and no talking I drove and he sat over in the passanger side and listened to his I-pod even the next moring we said nothing to each other...We could not stand EACH OTHER!!! As we entered the camp I came to realize I was there not to save my marriage but the get me healthy,,, I worked hard and got rid of so much resentment, guilt, unforgiveness, and many more things that was holding me down from living my life the way I deserved to live it.. I learned how to have more compassion and love for my fellowman,(and I thought I was already a loving person) I now look at all my relationships differently, my communication skills are enhanced, my work is better even my kids act better (lol) I know it changed my life it changed my heart. I can honestly say The only reason I went is so that I could say I tryed everything to make this relationship work..I knew that come Monday I was going to call my attorney and file for divorce.. and now I can honestly say I cant wait everyday to experience something new with my husband..We are still separated but now we have the tools to work through our struggles and experiences and are building a solid foundation for our relationship to grow,I feel excitied when I see him walk into the room I have not felt this way in a very long time..The love was there but just couldnt get past baggage... Attending the Life Enrichment Boot Camp, was a wonderful decision which changed my life. I could never have imagined what a few days in Atlanta would do for me. I found it difficult to imagine, as Todd said the first night, that a room of 40 strangers would become as close as we did. There was such a feeling of love and closeness by Saturday afternoon. My trainer, Joel Smith, was very understanding and perceptive of the needs and issues of each of the four attendees in his group. I walked away from that experience with a total sense of freedom and a direction for my future. Keep up the good work!!

I cannot begin to express what a life-changing experience the Marriage Boot Camp and Life Enrichment Camp was for my husband and me. My husband, James and I both have experienced a lot of trauma in our lives and this experience has not only given us tools that we can use in our marriage but it has helped us heal as individuals. I learned so much about forgiveness during these four days as well as learning to understand that I have a God-given purpose in life. These four days have served our marriage far better than any kind of marriage counseling because we were forced to face issues that can oftentimes be easy to side-step in a one or two-hour counseling session. Not only did James and I work at understanding one another better but we were able to learn from other couples. The friendships we made during these four days will be life-long because we all shared and grew together. My husband said, "It's the best thing that I have ever done for myself" and I feel the exact same way. Everyone that helped us during the four days was so insightful and had such heart.
